HAPPY NEW YEAR: January 9, 2009
He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3
Happy new year! I trust you had an enriching and rewarding holiday season, celebrating the birth of Christ with dear family and friends. As we enter this new year, I hope that you are preparing to bring to completion the calling and purpose that God has for you in 2009. So often we have good intentions, plan to do something “big” for God, make new year’s resolutions and yet never see them through to completion. The number 9 signifies divine completeness. So, in this new year, this new beginning, make every effort to finish that which you have begun. (”And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Phlippians 1:6).
I don’t know about you, but I have lots of “unfinished business” to tend to and, now that the holidays are past and vacation is over, it’s time to get busy! Busy about HIS business . . .
